Perlis: Youths must be given early exposure and awareness about issues such as climate change to ensure they gain broader knowledge of such global concerns. Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir emphasized the importance of this approach to cultivate values and attitudes among young people so that they are not limited to local contexts alone but also embrace global values for the future of the nation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Minister Akmal Nasrullah stressed that nurturing these values from an early stage is crucial. He noted, ‘This needs to be nurtured from an early stage so that the values and attitudes formed are not just based on local contexts but also incorporate global values,’ during a press briefing after officiating the 2025 National Youth Day celebration for Perlis.
During the event, Akmal Nasrullah presented the 2025 State-Level National Premier Youth Award (APBN), recognizing achievements in both individual male and female categories. He highlighted the importance of acknowledging young individuals who are making strides in embracing both local and global challenges.
Additionally, the Deputy Minister expressed optimism about Perlis’s potential for renewable energy development. He pointed out that Perlis, being one of the states with the highest sunlight exposure in the country, is ideally positioned for sustainable energy initiatives. ‘Perlis is seen as a symbolic state in the development of renewable energy due to its strong potential for solar energy generation,’ he remarked.
