Kuala lumpur: The e-invoice initiative is set for comprehensive implementation in 2026, alongside a self-assessment system for stamp duty aimed at fostering tax compliance, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He also holds the position of Finance Minister and has outlined plans to expedite refunds for overpaid taxes.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the government has proposed a tax exemption limit for vehicles priced at RM300,000 and below, effective January 1, 2026. This measure is intended to address the increasing trend of luxury vehicle owners exploiting tax exemption opportunities in areas such as Langkawi and Labuan.
