Kuala lumpur: DRB-Hicom Bhd has proposed to purchase the entire equity interest in Spirit Aerosystems Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Spirit MY) for US$110.62 million. This figure marks an increase from an earlier estimated enterprise value of US$95.2 million.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, DRB-Hicom, through its principal adviser AmInvestment Bank Bhd, explained in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that the price adjustment was due to an additional cash amount of US$16.94 million, offset by US$1.52 million in indebtedness.
On August 11, 2025, DRB-Hicom announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Composites Technology Research Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTRM), had entered into a conditional share purchase agreement with US-based aerospace manufacturers Spirit Aerosystems Inc. and Spirit Aerosystems International Holdings Inc. The acquisition pertains to the Malaysian operations of Spirit MY.
In its August 11 filing, DRB-Hicom noted that upon completion, Spirit MY would become a wholly-owned direct subsidiary of CTRM. The acquisition is projected to be finalized by the fourth quarter of 2025.
