Teluk Intan: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has conveyed his condolences to the families of nine Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel who tragically lost their lives in a road accident along Jalan Chikus-Sungai Lampam in Teluk Intan, Perak.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a Facebook post, Dr Ahmad Zahid expressed the nation’s sorrow over the loss and offered prayers for the families to find strength and perseverance in their time of grief. He emphasized that the sacrifice of these personnel will remain a significant symbol of bravery and loyalty to the nation.

Dr Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Rural and Regional Development Minister, mentioned that he had been briefed on the incident by the police (PDRM), the Road Transport Department (JPJ), and the Ministry of Transport. He referred to the deceased personnel as national heroes who died while fulfilling their duty to maintain the country’s peace and security.

The accident took place around 8.50 am when the FRU truck collided with a lorry transporting gravel. The crash resulted in the deaths of nine personnel, with two others sustaining serious injuries.
