DPM Ahmad Zahid Congratulates Three Orang Asli Pupils For Winning IRO 2025 Gold Medal

Kuala lumpur: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi congratulated three Orang Asli pupils from Sekolah Kebangsaan Pengkalan Tereh, Kluang, Johor for winning a gold medal at the 27th International Robot Olympiad (IRO 2025) in Gold Coast, Australia recently. He noted that their victory in the Creative Idea (Primary School) Category, achieved with their robot rover, demonstrated the capability and potential of Malaysian children, even those from rural areas, to compete on a global platform.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the success of these pupils serves as an inspiration for the younger generation to strive for excellence in the future. In his message posted on X, Ahmad Zahid emphasized the significance of this achievement for the nation.

Malaysia was represented by a group of 15 Orang Asli pupils from five primary schools at the IRO 2025. The gold medal was awarded for the design of a robot rover intended to explore the surface of Mars, surpassing entries from 15 other countries. In addition to the gold medal, Malaysia also secured a bronze medal in the Junior Technical Creative Category.
