Do Not Spread False Information On Putra Heights Gas Pipeline Fire – Shamsul Anuar

Putra Heights: The public has been advised not to spread unverified and dubious information or news regarding the Putra Heights gas pipeline fire incident. Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah emphasized the importance of relying on official sources for information to avoid creating confusion.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the police, in collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), are closely monitoring any misleading content related to the incident. Shamsul Anuar stated that official information can be found on the authorities’ website or through their media statements, cautioning that any parties found spreading false information may face legal consequences. He made these remarks after visiting the relief centre for victims of the gas pipeline fire at the Putra Heights Mosque.

The fire, which erupted at 8:10 am, took nearly eight hours to extinguish, leaving a large crater measuring 32 feet deep and approximately 70×80 feet wide. The intense heat from the blaze caused significant damage to nearby residential properties and vehicles within a 500-meter radius.

Shamsul Anuar also reported that the police have received 108 reports concerning property damage from victims of the incident. The total estimated loss is still under investigation. The authorities have deployed 116 policemen and 30 staff from the National Registration Department (JPN) to assist in the area.
