Discipline Drives Arif Aiman’s Success, Says Coach

Jakarta:National squad interim head coach Tan Cheng Hoe has emphasized the importance of discipline in the development of Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi, a standout winger for Harimau Malaya.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Cheng Hoe highlighted that the 24-year-old Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) player not only possesses remarkable technical skills but also maintains a professional attitude both on and off the field.

Cheng Hoe, who is 58 years old, praised Arif Aiman's exceptional talent and extraordinary individual technical abilities, noting that his disciplined nature is crucial to his success. He made these comments during the national team's training session ahead of the FIFA ASEAN 2026 campaign.

Arif Aiman's experience playing at the highest level in Asia with JDT has given him valuable exposure to top-quality players and teams. Despite his achievements, Cheng Hoe believes that there is still room for Arif Aiman to enhance his skills and continue his development.

In the ongoing FIFA 2026 ASEAN Cup campaign, Arif Aiman has become a pivotal player for Malaysia. He scored two goals in the team's 3-0 victory over Bangladesh in their Group A opener at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium in Jakarta. His performance against Indonesia in a goalless draw also stood out, as he successfully faced defenders with experience in top European leagues.

Malaysia is set to play against Singapore in their final Group A match at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium tonight. The outcome of this game will determine which team advances to the final.
