Digital penang: Digital Penang is targeting 2,000 users for its SME Digital Matching Platform within the first six months as part of efforts to accelerate digital adoption among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the state.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, State Infrastructure, Transport and Digital Committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari stated that the platform was developed to assist SMEs in identifying suitable digital solution providers based on their business needs, operations, and budgets. Zairil highlighted that many business owners face challenges in selecting the right solution, provider, and approach to enhance productivity, customer engagement, and market reach.

The platform facilitates exploration of solutions in digital marketing, e-commerce, automation, customer relationship management, data utilisation, and business operations. It also allows digital solution providers to showcase their capabilities and connect with businesses seeking practical digital support.

In addition to the SME Digital Matching Platform, Digital Penang launched Eventree.my online today. This central platform aims to assist Penangites, visitors, businesses, and communities in discovering events and activities across the state. It aggregates listings of business and technology programmes, training sessions, exhibitions, cultural events, tourism experiences, and community activities, providing organisers with an additional channel to reach wider audiences.

Zairil noted that information about events is often scattered across various channels, potentially causing the public to miss opportunities. He emphasized that Eventree.my online is designed to make Penang more visible, connected, and accessible.

Digital Penang CEO Ng Kwang Ming remarked that both platforms were developed to address gaps in visibility and access within the state's digital ecosystem, making it easier for businesses to find suitable support and for the public to discover activities across Penang.
