Diesel Price in Peninsula Reduced by Five Sen – MOF

Kuala lumpur: The retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will be reduced by five sen to RM2.85 per litre for the period from August 21 to 27.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Finance Ministry (MoF) announced that this reduction aligns with shifts in global oil market prices. The statement confirmed that the retail prices of RON97 and RON95 petrol will remain stable at RM3.13 per litre and RM2.05 per litre, respectively. Meanwhile, the diesel price in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will continue to be RM2.15 per litre.

The MoF explained that the weekly retail price setting for petroleum products is determined by the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula. The government remains committed to monitoring world crude oil price fluctuations and will implement necessary measures to safeguard the welfare of the populace, as emphasized in the ministry’s statement.
