Sepang: A car was struck by a tyre that detached from a tipper lorry on Jalan Kajang-Puchong, South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) last night.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sepang district police chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman reported that the incident took place around 8 pm. The lorry was traveling from Kajang to Puchong, Selangor, when its left rear tyre burst, detached, and fell from a flyover. The tyre subsequently struck the roof of a black Proton Satria Neo, resulting in damage to the vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Further investigations revealed that both the lorry and the car drivers, who are in their 20s and 30s, respectively, have valid driving licenses. They have lodged police reports at the Sepang District Police Headquarters. The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which pertains to careless and inconsiderate driving.
