Seremban:Negeri Sembilan DAP has filed a police report concerning a social media post that allegedly connects the party to the state's ongoing crisis and royal institution.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the post, made by a Facebook account under the name Khalide Al Walid, suggested associations between the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan and DAP, in addition to tying the party to issues related to customary land.
State DAP chairman J. Arul Kumar emphasized the gravity of these allegations, as they involve the royal institution, which he asserts should not be drawn into party politics.
Arul mentioned that while the DAP is accustomed to facing criticism and pressure, linking the royal institution to a political party is unacceptable. He stated this after filing the report at the Seremban district police headquarters.
The party has urged the police to investigate the matter, focusing on identifying the account owner and determining any legal action needed.
The post further alleged that DAP was involved in other matters, such as customary land issues, elected representatives attending religious briefings, and road renaming.
Arul, who is also the Nilai assemblyman, clarified that the transfer of ownership of customary land was never discussed during his tenure as a state executive councillor. He also noted that DAP representatives attended religious briefings to gather information for their constituents, particularly Muslim voters.
Regarding road renaming, Arul stated that such decisions are made by the State Executive Council and should not be linked to any political party. He stressed that DAP does not want these issues politicized or associated with the party and highlighted the need for a swift resolution to the crisis in Negeri Sembilan to ensure effective state administration.
