Cyberjaya Student Murder: Suspect Withdraws RM200 Using Victim’s ATM Card

Cyberjaya: The prime suspect in the murder of a private university student in a condominium unit in Cyberjaya is believed to have used the victim’s ATM card to withdraw RM200.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that the suspect, an unemployed local man in his 20s, allegedly stayed overnight at the victim’s residence. He gained access to the condominium unit via the key and access card provided by his girlfriend, who was also the victim’s housemate. The incident occurred when the victim’s housemates, including the suspect’s girlfriend, were not present. The police suspect the crime was motivated by the suspect’s intention to exploit the victim.

The suspect reportedly stole several items from the victim, including a bank card, mobile phone, and laptop. After the murder, the suspect disposed of the victim’s mobile phone, laptop, keys, and house access card. However, some of these stolen items have been recovered by the police.

Hussein further revealed that the suspect is one of four individuals currently remanded to aid the ongoing investigation. Among the detainees are the suspect’s girlfriends, including the victim’s housemate, who had accompanied the suspect during the ATM withdrawal using the stolen bank card.

The police are in the process of completing the investigation papers, which will then be submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
