CXF 2025 Gives Exposure To Creative Industry For TVET Students

Kangar: The inaugural Creative Xperience Festival (CXF) 2025, held this year, serves as a platform to provide exposure to the needs and developments of the creative industry in the country for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud highlighted that the students were not only exposed to the real-world environment of the creative industry but also able to understand how creativity and technology can be combined to support national development. He stated that this effort aligns with the government’s aim to elevate the creative industry, part of the orange economy sector, as a new driver of national development in the 13th Malaysia Plan (MP13). Mustapha made these remarks while officiating the festival at the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Polytechnic (PTSS).

The three-day festival, organised by the Curriculum Division of the Department of Polytechnic and Community Colleges Education (JPPKK) in collaboration with the Professional Film Workers Association of Malaysia (PROFIMA), kicked off today with the theme ‘Mengilham Warisan, Meneroka Dunia Digital’. The opening ceremony included the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between PTSS, Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan (PIS), and Politeknik Muadzam Shah (PMS), alongside 12 industry players, marking a symbolic commitment to comprehensive cooperation.

Mustapha noted the increasing demand for highly skilled workers in the creative industry, especially with advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technology. He emphasized the need to nurture the younger generation with the right creativity to remain competitive internationally. The ministry plans to evaluate the festival’s effectiveness to consider its future continuation, ensuring TVET students benefit comprehensively from exposure to the creative industry.

The festival gathers polytechnic students and lecturers from across the country, along with academic figures and creative industry practitioners. Activities include industry workshops, film and animation screenings, creative arts competitions, and the PROFIMA Awards Night.
