Crowd Gathers To Witness Exhumation Of Zara Qairina’s Body Despite Heavy Rain

Kampung mesapol: A large crowd gathered at the Tanjung Ubi Muslim Cemetery in Sipitang, Sabah, despite heavy rain, to witness the exhumation process of Zara Qairina Mahathir’s body today. The exhumation is part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the 13-year-old student’s death.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, authorities took measures to ensure the process proceeded without disruptions, with individuals carrying umbrellas being prevented from entering the cemetery. The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) forensic team arrived at the scene at 4.56 pm to carry out the exhumation.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that the PDRM would expedite the exhumation to complete the investigation into Zara Qairina’s death. This follows an announcement from the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) that her remains must be exhumed for a post-mortem procedure to ensure thorough examination of all aspects of the case.

Zara Qairina passed away at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu on July 17, after being found unconscious and critically injured in a drain near her school dormitory in Papar at 4 am the previous day. The investigation aims to uncover the circumstances that led to her tragic death.
