Le Mans: A crash early in the first lap was not enough to stop Malaysian teen racer Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli from finishing second in the second 2025 MotoGP Rookies Cup race at Le Mans Circuit in France today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Hakim started off in pole position in wet conditions for Race 2 and suffered a crash in the first lap. Despite the setback, he managed to recover and get back into the race to secure a podium finish.
The 16-year-old finished 12.361 seconds behind the winner, Spaniard Benat Fernandez, who recorded a time of 25:46.423 seconds. Marco Morelli from Argentina came in third, trailing by 21.922 seconds.
“I thought I already lost the podium but I picked up my bike, rejoined the race, tried to be calm, and tried to overtake as much as I can, and I managed to get the podium,” Muhammad Hakim said after the race.
The result keeps the Malaysian racer at the top of the overall standings with 80 points, ahead of Fernandez with 57 points and Brian Uriarte with 50 points.
