Cops Nab Six Men, Bust Cable Theft Activities In Shah Alam

Shah alam: Police have successfully crippled a cable theft syndicate following the arrest of six men in a series of operations around the Klang Valley from May 4 until yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Shah Alam district police chief ACP Ramsay Embol stated that the operation was carried out by the Criminal Investigation Division (D4) of the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD) with the cooperation of various units. This initiative followed an incident involving the theft of Telekom Malaysia (TM) cables in Section 2, which gained attention on social media platforms.

The suspects, aged between 26 and 40, were apprehended during the six-day operation from May 4 to 9. Checks revealed that they had between seven and 31 previous records related to crime and drugs. Urine screening tests conducted during the arrests found that four members of the group tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine.

In the same raids, police seized a Nissan Navara vehicle and various tools used by the suspects to cut cables at the scene. Additionally, three rolls of cable belonging to the telecommunications company were recovered. Authorities urge anyone with information related to the case to contact Shah Alam IPD criminal investigating officer Insp Mohammad Amirul Zulkifli at 012-5583436 to assist investigations.
