Congatec Expands Penang R&D Presence, Anchoring High-value Embedded Computing Capabilities In Malaysia

Penang: Congatec, a global leader in embedded and edge computing technology, has announced the establishment of a new subsidiary in Penang, Malaysia. This move represents a strategic expansion of its engineering and research footprint in Asia and underscores congatec's commitment to embedding high-value computing design, customization, and technical support capabilities in Malaysia. The expansion is part of congatec's global 'local for local' strategy.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, congatec has integrated an experienced embedded engineering team from Kontron Asia, which includes 23 specialized engineers. The company plans to expand its Penang operation to approximately 70 employees over the medium term. This new subsidiary enhances congatec's regional research and development (R and D) and technical support capabilities, facilitating faster development cycles, application-ready solutions, and closer collaboration with customers across the Asia-Pacific market.
