Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated national judoka Amir Daniel Abdul Majeed for delivering Malaysia's first-ever Commonwealth Games gold medal in judo. 'You have proven that hard work, discipline and fighting spirit can create history. We are all proud,' Anwar said in a social media post today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amir Daniel emerged as the champion in the men's under-81 kilogramme event at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The world No. 117 defeated world No. 41 Timothy Meuwsen of South Africa in the final to deliver Malaysia's eighth gold medal of the Games in Glasgow.
