Johor: Cloud seeding operations will be conducted in Johor, Kedah and Perak from tomorrow until Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said. He stated that the operations are being implemented due to declining water levels at several dams caused by prolonged hot weather.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid emphasized that even though dam levels are currently at the alert stage, early action is necessary to prevent them from reaching critical levels. He conveyed these remarks to reporters following the Rural and Regional Development Ministry's (KKDW) 2026 retreat.

Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee, detailed the schedule for the cloud seeding activities. The operations will target Upper Layang, Pulai 1, and Machap dams in Johor tomorrow, Thursday, and Sunday. In Kedah, the Pedu, Muda, and Ahning dams will be involved on Friday and Saturday, along with Bukit Merah Dam in Perak.
