Civil Defence Force Aids Flood-Affected Students to Attend School in Paitan

Paitan: Nine Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) 2025 repeat candidates were evacuated from flood-hit areas in Paitan by the Civil Defence Force to ensure they can continue to attend school.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Paitan District Civil Defence Office (PDPA) stated that the operation to transport the students to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Salaping in Kota Marudu was necessary due to the main access routes being affected by rising floodwaters.

The PDPA acknowledged the operation's importance as it prevents students from missing classes and allows them to continue their STPM preparations. The initiative not only ensures student safety but also provides peace of mind to students and parents amidst the flooding. The statement emphasized the critical role of rescue agencies in maintaining educational continuity despite natural disasters.

The evacuation proceeded smoothly due to the coordinated efforts of the personnel on duty, who kept student safety and welfare as their top priority. The latest reports indicate that the number of flood victims in Sabah has decreased to 3,266 people from 1,401 families, down from the morning count of 5,141 people from 2,160 families.
