Kuala lumpur: CIMB Bank Berhad and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad have announced a strategic collaboration with Weixin Pay, commonly known as WeChat Pay, through a dedicated solution called the Weixin Mini Program. This initiative is designed to enhance the visibility of CIMB-affiliated merchants by facilitating seamless cross-border payments and enabling businesses to connect with digital-savvy Chinese tourists.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the collaboration underscores CIMB's commitment to bolstering cross-border transactions. It allows local merchants to provide a smooth and reliable payment experience for Chinese consumers using Weixin Pay, a popular payment platform in China. By integrating the Weixin Mini Program and Weixin Pay, Malaysian merchants can showcase their products and services digitally, engage with Chinese travelers before they arrive in the country, and facilitate in-store transactions through DuitNow QR. This comprehensive ecosystem offers convenience for travelers and a competitive advantage for Malaysian businesses, particularly in sectors like retail, food and beverage, and hospitality.
