Beijing:The IFAD-SSTC Marketplace on Agricultural Technology Innovation and Investment opened at the United Nations Building, showcasing Dehua white porcelain and Songxi agricultural products.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event, hosted by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), aimed to establish a South-South cooperation platform to highlight China's agricultural achievements and share replicable solutions. The marketplace saw participation from more than 120 attendees, including diplomats from 17 embassies and representatives from seven UN agencies in China.
Dehua County, located in Fujian Province, displayed its renowned white porcelain works, alongside products like wild red mushrooms, alpine tea oil, and Chinese yam. Known for its ceramic culture, Dehua is a leading producer and exporter of ceramic crafts, generating substantial annual revenue.
Songxi County, part of Nanping City, was the sole county-level exhibitor, presenting products such as century-old sugarcane pastries and various teas. Songxi County Secretary Wu Wei emphasized the importance of the exhibition for promoting international agricultural cooperation and industrial advancement.
The event facilitated discussions on cross-border agricultural trade and technology exchange, with both Dehua and Songxi stands gaining significant attention, enhancing international visibility and supporting the global expansion of China's county-level industries.
