Kuching: The Social Welfare Department (JKM) will provide psychosocial support to the three children of a couple found dead in a house in Sri Aman yesterday. Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri announced that the department will also consider other aid, including through JKM-managed funds.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nancy highlighted that the children are still attending school, and the department's officers have already gathered relevant information about them. She mentioned that the children are currently staying with close relatives, and emphasized the importance of following proper procedures by applying through the court to become suitable and eligible guardians.
Nancy shared these details while speaking to reporters at the ministry's MADANI Adopted Village handover ceremony in Kampung Buntal earlier today.
The tragic incident was confirmed by Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, who stated that a headmaster and his wife were discovered dead with severe injuries at their residence on Jalan Brayun, Sri Aman. The discovery was made by members of the public at 6:55 am. The case is currently under investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
