Hulu Selangor: Legenda Beringin Holding Sdn Bhd and Chery Corporate Malaysia Sdn Bhd signed an agreement to develop the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park at Beringin High Tech Auto (Beringin HTA) Valley, Hulu Selangor today. Menteri Besar Selangor Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced that the industrial park, scheduled for completion in 2026, will be the cornerstone of the initial phase of the 324-hectare Beringin HTA Valley ecosystem, introducing automotive manufacturing and technologies to Hulu Selangor.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park will receive an investment of RM2.2 billion over five years. This investment is vital for advancing the industrial ecosystem, enhancing Selangor’s competitiveness, and establishing the state as a significant regional investment hub. Amirudin emphasized the importance of partnerships and acknowledged the collaboration between Chery Malaysia and Legenda Beringin as a significant achievement. He praised Invest Selangor for its role in attracting foreign investments and collaborating with Legenda Beringin and Chery Malaysia to realize the Beringin HTA Valley and Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park.
Amirudin’s speech was delivered by state investment, trade, and mobility committee chairman Ng Sze Han at the signing and groundbreaking ceremony held at Setia Alam Convention Centre. The event was attended by Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, Legenda Beringin chairman Chia Song Kooi, Chery International President Zhang Guibing, and Chery Automobile Co. Ltd chairman Yin Tongyue.
Zhang Guibing stated that the 81-hectare Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park is expected to initially produce 100,000 vehicles annually, with scalability to 300,000 vehicles per annum. The park will include production of internal combustion engine models and the latest plug-in hybrid, battery electric, and energy-efficient vehicle technologies. Zhang expressed confidence that the project would generate high-value employment, host a research and development center, boost vehicle exports to neighboring countries, and reinforce Malaysia’s position as a leading automotive hub in ASEAN.
