Central Region Industrial Cluster To Boost Negeri Sembilan’s Economy

Negeri sembilan: The development of the Central Region Industrial Cluster, which encompasses Negeri Sembilan, is expected to further strengthen the industrial sector and spur the state’s economic growth.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun stated that the initiative will open up more investment opportunities and enhance competitiveness, positioning Negeri Sembilan as one of the leading investment destinations in the region. He expressed gratitude for being included in the new economic corridor, highlighting that while Kuala Lumpur and Selangor have long been key economic centers, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka have been lagging behind. He emphasized that this cluster will provide the necessary advantage to continue developing industrial areas.

Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz mentioned that the initiative is expected to strengthen the national ecosystem by enhancing supply chains and supporting the growth of local enterprises. The Central Region, which includes Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka, already boasts a well-established network of suppliers, logistics, testing laboratories, higher learning institutions, and innovation partners.

Aminuddin hopes that the federal government will allocate funds to ensure that development plans, particularly in connectivity and infrastructure across the four states, can be implemented systematically and comprehensively. He noted the potential for developing about 16,000 square kilometers involving the four states, which could accelerate national growth since the Central Region contributes nearly 50 percent to Malaysia’s gross domestic product.
