Cattle Smuggler Nabbed in Tumpat

Tumpat: Thirteen heads of cattle weighing 8,450 kilogrammes and estimated to be worth RM126,750 were seized by the General Operations Force (PGA) Southeast Brigade in Kampung Bunohan, Tumpat, on Thursday. PGA Southeast Brigade Commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid reported that the seizure occurred after PGA personnel detained an Isuzu lorry driven by a 38-year-old local man.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the cattle were discovered in the back of the lorry without valid documentation during an inspection. It is believed that the animals were smuggled from Thailand. In a statement made today, Commander Nik Ros Azhan confirmed the details of the inspection and seizure.

The suspect, along with the seized cattle, has been handed over to the Chabang Empat Police Station in Tumpat for further action. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the smuggling operation and the involvement of other parties.
