Capcom Unveils Resident Evil Veronica, Set For 2027 Release

Tokyo: Capcom Co Ltd, a global developer, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment, has announced that Resident Evil Veronica, the latest title in the Resident Evil series, is scheduled for release in 2027.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Resident Evil franchise comprises survival horror games in which players use a variety of weapons and items to overcome dangerous situations. Resident Evil Veronica is a remake of the original Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which was released in 2000.

Capcom, in a statement, revealed that cumulative sales of the Resident Evil series have exceeded 201 million units worldwide as of March 31, 2026, since the debut of the first title in 1996.

The company said the remake will preserve the appeal of the original game while featuring a reimagined story and enhanced graphics powered by its proprietary RE ENGINE.

Capcom stated that the game is being developed as the latest instalment in the Resident Evil franchise to appeal to both long-time fans and new players. The release date and additional details will be announced at a later date.
