Cabinet Reshuffle: Seven Ministers, Eight Deputy Ministers To Take Oath Today

Kuala lumpur: A total of seven ministers and eight deputy ministers will take their oaths of office before His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia today, following a Cabinet reshuffle under the MADANI Government. The Presentation of Appointment Letters and Swearing-in Ceremony is expected to take place this morning at Istana Negara.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister, announced yesterday the appointment of new ministers and deputy ministers, as well as the reshuffling of several portfolios. This move comes in response to several vacancies within the MADANI Government Cabinet and the need for adjustments.

Among the notable changes, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, the former Minister of Plantation and Commodities, has been appointed as the new Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry. Additionally, Hannah Yeoh, who previously served as the Minister of Youth and Sports, has been appointed as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories).

The reshuffle also includes the promotion of six deputy ministers and one new face to full ministerial positions. Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, previously the Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, has been appointed as the Minister of Economy. Furthermore, Sungai Petani Member of Parliament Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari has been named the new Minister of Youth and Sports.
