Cabinet Reshuffle Guided by Experience and Portfolio Suitability: Fahmi

Kuala lumpur: Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil stated that the Cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, which involves several portfolio changes and new appointments, was a strategic decision based on the experience and suitability of the individuals involved.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi highlighted the reassignment of Hannah Yeoh from Youth and Sports Minister to Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories), emphasizing her experience as Segambut MP and her active engagement on issues affecting the capital. He mentioned that her background makes her well-suited for her new role. Fahmi expressed confidence in Yeoh's ability to prioritize sustainable development in her new position.

Fahmi, who also serves as the MADANI Government spokesman, shared his personal experiences of collaborating with Hannah Yeoh on various issues concerning the residents of Kuala Lumpur. He conveyed his assurance that Yeoh's leadership would focus on sustainable progress.

Furthermore, Fahmi addressed the appointment of Sungai Petani MP Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari as the new Youth and Sports Minister. He described this appointment as fitting due to Dr Taufiq's active involvement and innovative ideas in youth affairs and sports development. Fahmi expressed optimism that Dr Taufiq's leadership would translate ideas into actionable measures to ensure continued excellence in these areas.

Fahmi also took a moment to appreciate the contributions of all ministers and deputy ministers who served before the reshuffle. He expressed hope that they would continue to contribute to the nation in various capacities and noted that the Prime Minister would consider optimal avenues for their continued service.

In addition, Fahmi announced that the first Cabinet meeting following the reshuffle is anticipated to take place tomorrow, with a post-Cabinet media conference scheduled for 2.30 pm on Thursday. Earlier, Prime Minister Anwar revealed the new ministerial appointments and portfolio changes within the MADANI Government Cabinet, prompted by vacancies and the necessity for adjustments.
