Cabinet Members Extend Christmas Greetings, Emphasize Unity and Harmony

Kuala lumpur: The Cabinet today extended Christmas greetings to Christians nationwide, underscoring the importance of unity, harmony, and mutual respect in Malaysia's multi-religious and multicultural society. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail highlighted the significance of Christmas as a reflection of Malaysia's strength in diversity, serving as a pillar of peace and harmony.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin urged Malaysians to take advantage of the festive week to visit friends and family, thereby strengthening social bonds. He emphasized that this is the spirit of the MADANI Government, which celebrates diversity and unity.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi expressed his hope that the festive season would bring peace, joy, and meaningful moments with family. He also reminded road users to prioritize safety during the celebrations. Linggi encouraged everyone to work together in the spirit of unity to build a safer and more prosperous nation as the New Year approaches.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil conveyed his Christmas message, expressing hope that the values of peace and love would continue to strengthen unity for a harmonious future. Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin emphasized that the celebration should serve as a catalyst for reinforcing togetherness, mutual respect, and harmony among Malaysians.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming highlighted respect, understanding, and appreciation as foundational elements of nation-building. He urged Malaysians to continue celebrating and promoting diversity. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform), Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, echoed these sentiments, urging the preservation of harmony to ensure a peaceful and prosperous future in line with MADANI values.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu spoke about the deeper meaning of Christmas beyond gift-giving, focusing on sustenance, togetherness, and mutual appreciation. He emphasized that when society and the agricultural sector move in tandem, food security becomes a significant gift for families and the nation.

Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali viewed the festive season as an opportunity to strengthen family ties, nurture tolerance, and reinforce unity across racial and religious lines. Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sim described Christmas as a time for reflection, gratitude, and strengthening bonds among Malaysians, emphasizing that the country's cultural harmony and diversity are sources of national pride and key attractions for tourism.

Several other ministers, including Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, and others, also shared Christmas greetings on social media, reinforcing the message of unity and harmony during this festive season.
