KUALA LUMPUR: BYD Co Ltd has expanded its partner programme for BYD Energy Storage solutions recently during a partner conference at its headquarters. In November this year, the company hosted the conference, providing an opportunity for partners to share their experiences, engage with the technical team, and receive an exclusive preview of upcoming products and features.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, BYD Energy Storage general manager, Yin Xiaoqiang, stated that the company is committed to continuous investment in research and development (R and D), as well as in production facilities. This commitment aims to ensure that its energy storage solutions not only lead the innovation curve but are also produced with the highest safety standards and in a cost-efficient manner.
Yin Xiaoqiang emphasized the importance of maintaining active dialogue with partners and customers as a crucial element in their product development process. Regular meetings with partners from the distribution and installation sectors
are integral to the partner programme. Feedback and insights from these interactions are taken seriously to advance BYD’s solutions, helping address current and future demands in the efficient use and storage of renewable energy.
The conference aimed to gain insights into the current market challenges faced by partners and how energy storage solutions can assist in overcoming them. Many wholesalers and installers reported that customer hesitations to invest in photovoltaic (PV) and related technology have been a barrier due to a current market slowdown. However, they confirmed that solutions like the BatteryBox series have been instrumental in attracting customers, as demand for integrated PV and energy storage solutions continues to grow.
The high charging power of the BYD BatteryBox systems was highlighted as a significant advantage, particularly in light of trends such as bidirectional charging and dynamic electricity pricing. Additionally, partners were given a tour of BYD’s most advanced production fac
ilities in Nanning, specializing in the R and D and manufacturing of energy storage cells and systems since May 2023.
