KOTA BHARU: The Bukit Merbau Sports Complex in Selising, Pasir Puteh is on track to meet its target capacity of 20,000 spectators, according to Kelantan Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Committee chairman Zamakhshari Muhamad. The complex is designed to include a main stadium with facilities such as a football field, an athletics track, an indoor arena for 1,000 spectators, and a multi-purpose court.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the current construction progress of the main stadium stands at 5.26 percent. The development plan also includes a hockey stadium with a capacity for 500 spectators, two additional fields, a squash centre for 100 spectators, eight permanent courts, and a mobile court.

Furthermore, the complex will feature a shooting range designed to hold 100 spectators. This facility will offer 30 lanes for 30-metre indoor shooting and 15 lanes for 25-metre and 50-metre outdoor shooting. The stadium complex is advancing well under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) with a financ
ial provision of RM256 million, and it is slated to be a venue for the 2028 Malaysia Games (SUKMA).
