BUDI95: STR Recipients Praise, Appreciate Govt’s Effort To Lighten Burden

Butterworth: Recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) who have started enjoying the BUDI MADANI RON95 initiative have praised the government’s efforts in fulfilling its promise by providing subsidy for the purchase of petrol at RM1.99 per litre.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nur Fatini Mohd Addnan, 24, expressed that while some may view the reduction as minor, it holds significant value for those in need. She noted that RM1.99 per litre of petrol is notably affordable, marking a six sen decrease from the previous price of RM2.05. This subsidy aids in reducing her commuting expenses, allowing her to save more. She typically spends RM50 on fuel, which lasts two to three weeks for her commute from Sungai Puyu to Perai, with the 300-litre monthly limit being adequate.

Nur Fatini also commended the straightforwardness of the payment transaction system, appreciating the assistance available at petrol stations for users unfamiliar with the process.

Another recipient, N. Nageswari, 51, expressed gratitude towards the government for focusing on the B40 group with initiatives aimed at aiding the population. As an e-hailing driver, she feels relieved to benefit from the reduced petrol prices.

Ang Chean Leong, 63, also shared his approval, stating that the subsidy is crucial during a period of increasing living costs, particularly benefiting the B40 group.
