BUDI95 Initiative Sees Over 10 Million Malaysians Benefit from Targeted Petrol Subsidy

Kuala lumpur: Over 10 million Malaysians have taken advantage of the targeted RON95 petrol subsidy provided through the BUDI95 initiative, as reported by the Ministry of Finance (MOF). This figure represents a 62.5 percent participation rate out of the 16 million eligible citizens, with total sales valued at RM727.7 million, equivalent to 365.7 million litres of petrol purchased at the subsidised rate of RM1.99 per litre.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MOF highlighted the encouraging response from the Malaysian public since the launch of the BUDI95 initiative on September 27, 2025. Initially rolled out for police and military personnel, followed by Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients and eventually all eligible citizens by September 30, the initiative has seen a positive trend in transactions, reaching over three million per day during weekends.

The ministry noted that this trend indicates the public’s readiness to adopt a transparent and efficient targeted subsidy approach that delivers tangible benefits. The MyKad digital verification system at petrol stations has been smoothly facilitating these transactions. The MADANI government is committed to the continued smooth and transparent implementation of this subsidy system, ensuring its benefits reach the people directly while collaborating with relevant agencies for ongoing improvements.

Additional information is available through the official BUDI MADANI portal, which provides a transaction record checking feature via MyDigital ID to ensure data security. The public can also reach out to the helpline at 1-300-88-9595 or via WhatsApp at +603-2631 4595 for further assistance.
