Budi Belia Programme to Foster Future Leaders with Integrity

Accra:The Budi Belia programme, which provides a RM100 e-wallet incentive to youths engaged in volunteer activities, aims to shape a future generation of leaders characterized by integrity and responsibility. This initiative, announced through Budget 2027, is more than a mere reward for active youths; it serves as a vital platform for cultivating societal sensitivity and care.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari emphasized that good leadership begins with sensitivity and care, which can be developed through volunteering. The government believes that nurturing volunteers today will result in greater leaders tomorrow. Dr. Taufiq shared these insights during his appearance on the Ruang Bicara programme produced by Bernama TV.

The Member of Parliament for Sungai Petani also highlighted that youth participation in volunteer activities serves as a training ground for building self-confidence, enhancing communication skills, and managing various situations. He noted that many current leaders have backgrounds in volunteerism, having participated in international missions and programmes.

Additionally, Dr. Taufiq encouraged young individuals to join youth organisations to enhance leadership and organisational management skills. He mentioned that the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) collaborates with the Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) and other youth organisations nationwide to expand opportunities for youth development activities. Furthermore, eligible youth organisations can apply for the Geran Sejati MADANI, offering up to RM100,000 to implement various initiatives.
