Budget 2027 Aims to Enhance Capabilities of Malaysian Companies

Rabat:The measures outlined in Budget 2027 are expected to empower Malaysian companies by boosting their capabilities and expanding their market reach. This initiative is set to open up larger opportunities for these businesses.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, The chief executive officer of Bursa Malaysia Bhd, Datuk Fad'l Mohamed, highlighted that these measures will fortify the pipeline for companies aspiring to secure public-market financing. Investments focusing on the growth of local semiconductor firms into higher value segments are intended to enhance Malaysia's industrial and technological capabilities.

Funding initiatives targeting mid-tier companies in sectors such as electronics, aerospace, digital, and medical devices will enable these businesses to access the capital market as they scale up. Government-linked investments are also geared towards aiding bumiputera companies in their development and expansion efforts, ultimately preparing them for public listings.

Financing guarantees for mergers and acquisitions are designed to help firms grow, solidify their market positions, and attract investor interest. Additionally, a proposed matching grant for listing costs within the Malaysia-Hong Kong dual-listing pathway aims to assist companies in tapping into new investor bases, while also enhancing connectivity between the two capital markets.
