BS Freshmart Targets RM1.25 Billion Revenue for 2023

Kuala lumpur: Syarikat Pasaraya BSK Sdn Bhd (BS Freshmart), with its 26 branches nationwide, is setting its sights on achieving a revenue of approximately RM1.25 billion this year. This ambitious target comes on the heels of strong public support, which helped the brand secure a revenue of RM1 billion last year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, BS Freshmart's managing director, Mohammad Rasul Razuan, stated that the company's expansion plans are pivotal to reaching this financial goal. The company is investing over RM30 million to open five new outlets this year, including a recently inaugurated branch in Puncak Alam. Additional locations are planned for Bukit Setongkol and Batu 6 Jalan Gambang in Kuantan, as well as Wakaf Bharu and Pasir Mas in Kelantan.

Mohammad Rasul disclosed that RM6.9 million has been allocated for the Puncak Alam branch alone. The expansion aims to enhance public access to quality goods, such as food, fresh produce, and fish sourced directly from the company's own fishing jetty. This was highlighted during the branch's official opening, officiated by Meru state assemblyman Mariam Abdul Rashid.

The managing director also emphasized the role of government assistance programs, such as Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and the monthly Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) aid, in boosting sales by seven percent. These initiatives have facilitated the entry of numerous local products into BS Freshmart stores, raising their in-store presence to an estimated 30 percent. Mohammad Rasul noted, "These programs not only aid the public but also indirectly bolster the income of local entrepreneurs."

BS Freshmart's current branches are distributed across various states, including Selangor, Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan.
