Kuala lumpur: The older brother of Sariya Che Hin, 51, a woman who was believed to have been murdered in a house in Kampung Sekolah Juru near here yesterday, is hoping that the authorities will bring those responsible to justice soon.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bismi Che Hin, 60, was still visibly shocked when met at the grounds of Seberang Jaya Hospital and described his sister’s death as saddening and unexpected. He added that she had a son from a previous marriage and had just remarried several years ago. Bismi shared that Sariya also took care of two adopted children, and the girl who died with her was an adopted daughter she had cared for since young. “What I know is that my sister is a good and friendly person,” he said, adding that both bodies would be taken back to Jeneri, Kedah, when ready.
Checks by Bernama at the victim’s house in Kampung Sekolah Juru today indicated that the police were still at the scene. Penang police chief Datuk Aziziee Ismail revealed when contacted that they had remanded the victim’s husband, 57, until October 25 to facilitate investigations. Both Sariya and the girl, 11, were believed to have been murdered and were found by the victim’s husband at about 7:30 pm yesterday.
