Boy Injured After Foot Run Over By Tow Vehicle During National Day Parade

Kuala lumpur: A three-year-old boy sustained an injury to his left foot after it was accidentally run over by a tow vehicle taking part in the 2026 National Day parade this morning. The boy's mother, Puteri Anis Athirah Wan Rosli, 36, from Cendering, said the incident occurred at about 9.45 am in front of Wisma Persekutuan here.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Puteri Anis Athirah recounted that her son, Che Ku Muhammad Khairul Amir Che Ku Mohd Khairul Azlan, fell before being run over by a tow vehicle carrying a Fire and Rescue Department boat. The incident unfolded when the boat carrier stopped several times in front of the Wisma, prompting her seven-year-old daughter to run ahead to take photographs, with her son following closely behind.

In an attempt to ensure the boy's safety, firefighters tried to move him slightly aside, but he fell forward, resulting in his foot being run over by the tow vehicle. At the Emergency Department of Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) here, Puteri Anis Athirah expressed relief that an X-ray showed no broken bones, although her son remained under observation at the hospital. She extended her gratitude to the police for their prompt response and for escorting the ambulance carrying her son to HSNZ at about 10.15 am.

Despite the distressing incident, Puteri Anis Athirah emphasized that she did not hold any blame towards the firefighters, acknowledging their efforts in managing the safety and movement of the assets. She recognized the incident as an unfortunate accident, attributing it to her son's excitement.

Meanwhile, Kuala Terengganu district police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor confirmed the incident, adding that the exact cause was still under investigation.
