Melaka: A boy was found drowned after he went out swimming with two friends at Pantai Puteri here tonight. Melaka Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division assistant director Senior Fire Superintendent II Mohd Shahrom Laji reported that the body of Mohammad Wafiy Adrian Mohd Ridzuan, 12, was discovered approximately 150 metres from where he was reported missing at 9.40 pm.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Tangga Batu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) received an emergency call at 6.33 pm, arriving at the scene about 11 minutes later. Upon arrival, it was reported that two of the three boys had been rescued by members of the public.

The victim’s body was subsequently handed over to the police, while the other two boys, also aged 12, were transported to Melaka Hospital. Tonight’s operation involved 44 officers and personnel from various agencies, including Melaka JBPM, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), Civil Defence Force (APM), and local fishermen.
