Ampang: A nine-year-old boy died after he is believed to have fallen from the 13th floor of an apartment in Taman Cahaya, Ampang, yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid stated that they received information regarding the incident from a woman at about 7.45pm after she found the victim unconscious. Preliminary investigations suggest that the boy was left alone at home at the time of the incident.

He further reported that the boy was confirmed dead at the scene by an assistant medical officer from the Ampang Hospital. Following the incident, police have recorded statements from five individuals, including the boy's parents, family members, and witnesses.

Khairul Anuar added that the boy's body was taken to the Ampang Hospital for a post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death. The case is currently being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
