Body Of Teenage Boy Feared Drowned In Sungai Tengah Found

Kuala lumpur: The body of a teenage boy, who was feared to have drowned after falling into a river in Kampung Kolong Sungai Tengah, near Sekolah Kebangsaan Tan Sri Datuk Haji Mohamed, was found today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre reported that the body of 16-year-old Fahril Zaquan Hasbullah was discovered about 2.7 kilometres from the Disaster Operations Control Centre (PKOB) that had been activated. The department mentioned that initial information came from members of the public who spotted the victim's body, prompting the search and rescue (SAR) team to verify the discovery.

The body was transported to the Masjid Kampung Tengah Sungai jetty where it was identified by his family before being handed over to the police. The SAR operation, which began on Friday, was launched by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department in collaboration with relevant agencies following a report received on the day of the incident.

It was reported that the victim was playing with a friend on the riverbank when he fell into the water. Despite efforts by his friends to rescue him, the strong current swept him away, leading them to alert local residents about the incident.
