Hutan melintang: Police have confirmed the discovery of the body of the second angler who went missing at One Fathom Bank, near Pulau Ketam, in the waters off Hutan Melintang, Perak, yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, North Klang police chief ACP Ramsay Embol stated that the deceased is believed to be Muhammad Ridzuan Ruhaizat, 37, based on preliminary identification by a family member. The search and rescue (SAR) team was alerted by a fishing boat at about 4.26 pm yesterday regarding the discovery of a man's body floating in the waters off Hutan Melintang.

The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Perak vessel KM Nusa arrived at the location at 5.05 pm and confirmed the discovery of the body. Preliminary identification by a family member, using photographs and the shoes worn by the deceased, indicated that the body is likely Muhammad Ridzuan, one of the two anglers who remained missing.

Ramsay confirmed that the body was taken to Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Hospital (HTAJ) in Sabak Bernam and will be transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem examination. This discovery brings the number of anglers accounted for to six out of seven, with four found safe and two confirmed dead.

Raja Mohd Rozi Raja Mahamud, 49, is still missing. The SAR operation, now in its fourth day, was suspended at 9 pm yesterday and resumed at 7 am today, involving the police, MMEA, Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Civil Defence Force (APM), and other relevant agencies in efforts to locate the remaining victim.

Selangor MMEA launched a SAR operation last Monday after receiving a report at 3.35 am about seven anglers who had gone missing at One Fathom Bank. On the second day of the operation, rescuers found four of the anglers safe in the waters off Sekinchan, taking them to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) and Banting Hospital for further treatment. Last Wednesday, police confirmed the discovery of the body of Mohd Shahril Abd Rahman, 43, in the waters off Hutan Melintang at about 8.30 am.
