Sg buloh: The body of a 10-year-old boy, who went missing after reportedly falling into a drain in Bandar Puncak Alam on Tuesday, was found in Sungai Buloh today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar stated that the body was discovered at about 1 pm, approximately six kilometres from where the boy was reported to have fallen at Lorong Cakera Purnama 12/27. Rescue personnel successfully recovered the body and handed it over to the police.
Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar detailed that on the third day of the search operation, which commenced early in the morning, the rescue teams conducted surface water searches in addition to diving operations at two key areas leading towards the river. The integrated operation also included the JBPM's Water Rescue Unit (PPDA) and K9 Tracker Dog Unit.
Earlier reports indicated that the boy was swept away by strong currents during heavy rain around 3.30 pm on Tuesday. Firefighters received an emergency call regarding the incident at 7.47 pm.
