KUALA LANGAT: Police have identified the decomposed body found in RTB Sungai Changgang as Yap Xin Yuan, a teenager who was reported missing on December 19. The discovery marks a significant development in an investigation that has captivated the local community.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan announced that the identity of the 15-year-old girl was confirmed through DNA testing performed by the Chemistry Department. The results were shared with the victim’s family, and arrangements have been made to return the body to them.
The investigation, classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code, is ongoing. Police are committed to bringing the responsible party to justice, Datuk Hussein stated. As part of their efforts, authorities have detained three individuals, including the victim’s 16-year-old boyfriend, and two others aged 20 and 51, to assist with the investigation.
Yap Xin Yuan was reported missing after she failed to return home from a lion dance practice at a basketball court in Batu 11, Cheras. Her disappearance has drawn significant attention as authorities worked tirelessly to uncover the circumstances surrounding her tragic death.
