Kuala lumpur: Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has announced the issuance of two limited-edition commemorative coins to mark the ASEAN-Malaysia Chairmanship 2025 (ASEAN25) and the 75th anniversary of the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM75).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the ASEAN25 series comprises a single-coloured sterling silver coin proof, while the DOSM75 series includes a single sterling silver coin. Both series boast a purity of 92.5 percent and weigh 31 grammes each. The sterling silver coins have a face value of RM10 and are priced at RM363 per piece, with a mintage quantity of 1,000 pieces.
Additionally, the ASEAN25 series is available as a set of two coins in Nordic gold brilliant uncirculated (BU) form, while the DOSM75 series offers a single Nordic gold BU coin. These coins, made of copper and other metals, weigh 8.5 grammes each and have a face value of RM1 per coin. The ASEAN25 Nordic gold set is priced at RM24.20 per set, with a mintage of 5,000 sets, while the DOSM75 series is available at RM16.50 per piece, also with a mintage of 5,000 pieces.
A special set containing one sterling silver proof coin and one Nordic gold proof coin from both series is available, with a mintage quantity of 1,000 sets, priced at RM396 per set.
BNM stated that these commemorative coins are sold individually, with a purchase limit applied to each design to ensure fair access. Individuals can purchase one set of two coins, one sterling silver coin (proof), and up to five Nordic gold (BU) coins.
Members of the public are encouraged to place their orders through BNM’s online system to avoid unauthorized parties. Orders can be placed at duit.bnm.gov.my from 12:00 pm on November 7, 2025, until 8:59 am on November 17, 2025.
