Batu sapi: The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Sekong state constituency, Mohd Zharif Aizat Samsuddin, aged 30, is steadfast in his commitment to a door-to-door campaign approach, confident in its continued effectiveness for engaging with voters. This traditional method allows him to connect directly with the residents and voters of Sekong, fostering face-to-face interactions.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Zharif emphasized that large-scale programs often fail to resonate with voters on a personal level. He remains dedicated to the house-to-house campaign style, believing it is crucial for truly understanding the people’s concerns. He shared these insights during his campaign visit to Kampung Bonggaya Baru Hujung in Batu Sapi.
Mohd Zharif revealed that his campaign has reached nearly 70 percent of the villages in Sekong since it began. He remains committed to this grassroots approach. During his week-long campaign, residents, particularly those in water villages, have frequently raised the issue of irregular waste management.
In response to these concerns, Mohd Zharif has pledged to introduce a more consistent waste disposal system if given a mandate in the upcoming 17th Sabah state election. This initiative aims to enhance the area’s cleanliness. Additionally, he addressed residents’ concerns regarding village gazetting, promising that if BN forms the state government, efforts will be made to resolve these issues.
The Election Commission (EC) has scheduled November 29 as the polling day for the 17th Sabah polls, with early voting set for November 25.
