Negeri sembilan: The victory of Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the Negeri Sembilan state election is a huge mandate for both coalitions to further strengthen the state administration, says Negeri Sembilan UMNO liaison chairman Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias. He said the trust placed by the state's multiracial voters in the two coalitions was a significant responsibility that must be shouldered by all elected representatives.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the trust given to BN and PN translates into a mandate to enhance governance in Negeri Sembilan. Jalaluddin emphasized that all BN and PN representatives must fulfill their service commitments without compromise, adhering to the manifesto promises made to the people. He conveyed these sentiments to reporters following the announcement of the unofficial Negeri Sembilan state election results at Wisma UMNO Negeri Sembilan.

Jalaluddin, who successfully retained the Pertang state seat, highlighted that the more than two-thirds majority secured by BN and PN demonstrated the people's rejection of divisive politics in favor of stability and prosperity. Regarding the formation of the new state government, he noted that party leaders would engage in discussions to finalize the Menteri Besar candidate, whose name would then be submitted to the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan and the state's four Undang for the swearing-in ceremony.

Meanwhile, UMNO Information chief Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said remarked that the victory should not lead to complacency but should be viewed as a mandate to improve governance and ensure the effective implementation of the BN manifesto. She stressed the importance of not betraying the trust of the people and utilizing the mandate wisely.

Azalina further explained that the political cooperation between BN and PN in Negeri Sembilan was a crucial factor in their success, as it showcased political maturity and strategic discipline by avoiding multi-cornered contests. She noted that effective communication, understanding public sentiment, and crafting the right narrative were pivotal to the campaign's success, emphasizing that the government must now serve all residents of Negeri Sembilan impartially.
