Blue Lagoon’s Beauty Draws Crowds To Port Dickson

Kuala lumpur: Pantai Tanjung Biru, better known as Blue Lagoon, has emerged as one of the preferred destinations for visitors, especially during weekends and the school holidays, following the recent viral spread of its scenic beauty and crystal-clear seawater on social media.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a check at the beach found that the location, renowned for its white sandy shoreline, gently sloping beach, and blue waters, has been attracting large numbers of both domestic and international visitors. Most visitors interviewed described the beach's clean surroundings and clear seawater as placing Pantai Tanjung Biru on par with several other popular beach destinations in the country.

Visitor Ramlah Abd Malek, 45, said she and her family had previously frequented Pantai Telok Kemang for recreation and swimming, but did not want to miss the opportunity to visit Pantai Tanjung Biru after seeing posts about it on social media. The housewife and mother of three from Melaka said the visit was worthwhile, as the beach's cleanliness and crystal-clear waters exceeded her expectations.

'It is truly beautiful and clean. The seawater is so clear that you can see the shallow seabed, and occasionally spot small fish. The children really enjoyed swimming and playing at this beach. I hope the beauty of this beach can be preserved so that more visitors will come here, as we all know that Port Dickson is one of the country's popular beach resort destinations,' she told BERNAMA here.

Meanwhile, private-sector employee Mohd Marzuki Hassan, 43, said he was willing to drive nearly two hours with his family from Selangor after being captivated by photos and videos showcasing the clarity of the seawater at Pantai Tanjung Biru. He said the beach's cleanliness, good toilet facilities, and tranquil atmosphere made it an ideal location for family recreational activities.

'I have been here before. Previously, the beach was littered with wood debris and black charcoal-like residue along the shoreline, but now it is clean and the water is clear as well. I am confident that Pantai Tanjung Biru can become one of the top choices for domestic tourists if its cleanliness and natural beauty continue to be preserved,' said the father of two.

Meanwhile, trader Muhamad Asyraf Muhamad, 32, said the phenomenon of clear waters at Blue Lagoon has also brought additional income opportunities to small traders. He said water-based activities such as banana boat rides, kayaking, and jet skiing are popular among visitors, helping operators earn an estimated income of more than RM300 per day, depending on visitor turnout.

'During the school holidays, business is much better because more visitors come. On normal days, even earning RM100 can be difficult,' he said. The beauty of Pantai Tanjung Biru began attracting widespread attention after several photos and videos highlighting the clarity of its seawater went viral on social media, encouraging more people to visit and experience the beach's beauty for themselves.
