Kuala lumpur: SpringHealth, a brand specialising in nutritional science, has officially launched BloomWell, its comprehensive, stage-based nutrition brand, designed to support mothers and babies during the crucial ‘first 1,000 days’ of development. SpringHealth in a statement said BloomWell provides targeted nutrition for each distinct phase of motherhood and toddlerhood, from family planning, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, lactation, and toddlerhood. ‘This helps mothers navigate their own and their child’s changing nutritional needs with clear, easy-to-follow guidance,’ it said.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, SpringHealth founder Amy Chong said BloomWell was inspired by her 25 years of experience as a community pharmacist and founder of a health science nutrition brand, during which she frequently received questions from mothers about pregnancy and lactation nutrition. ‘I constantly heard questions from mothers like, ‘What should I take to support my pregnancy?’ and ‘How can I support my lactation for more breast milk?’ While we always advocate getting most nutrients from healthy foods, BloomWell is designed to thoughtfully support the gaps. We recognised that motherhood is a journey with unique stages, each having its own nutritional demands, and there was a significant need for holistic, clear support,’ she was quoted as saying in the statement. She said SpringHealth’s mission is to empower mothers with carefully formulated, stage-specific nutrition and build a strong foundation for both her and her child’s long-term health, no matter which stage they are at.
According to SpringHealth, the official launch of BloomWell held recently brought together nearly 200 healthcare professionals, including obstetricians and gynaecologists, fertility specialists, pharmacists, dietitians and nutritionists, also featured keynote addresses from leading experts. The brand currently carries four products namely: Pre-Conception and Pregnancy Duo, Prenatal Plant Protein Shake, Lactation Plant Protein Shake, and Mums and Little Ones Mixed Blueberry Powder + Probiotics.
According to SpringHealth, one of the products – Mums and Little Ones Probiotics was developed with the help of Dr Anders Hendriksson, a distinguished Gastrointestinal Microbiologist and Application and Technical Support Leader for IFF Health Sciences who provided expert guidance on the selection of clinically-studied probiotic strains to ensure the formula delivers effective, science-backed support for both mother and child. Meanwhile, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Fertility Consultant at KL Fertility and Gynaecology Centre Dr Helena Lim in her presentation at the launching ceremony said prenatal nutrition is a health inheritance that can cross three generations, influencing not only child’s health but their future fertility. ‘While a healthy diet and lifestyle are the foundation, we must recognise that some conception difficulties can stem from nutritional deficiencies. By improving diet and using scientific nutritional supplements, we can help increase the chances of natural conception for
some couples,’ she was quoted to have said.
On the other hand, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Reproductive Medicine Specialist Dr Jasdev Singh emphasised the importance of proactive preparation. ‘Understanding your body is the first step on the path to parenthood, proactive nutritional support and the right medical care is a vital part of that journey,’ he stated.
